With Ali Hazelwood there are things that you 100% know you are going to get. These include:
* teeny-tiny femme protagonists who are just too widdle and twee for the world while being "not like other girls"
* giant masc protagonists who speak a cumulative 12 words per story
* femme protagonists who "don't know they are pretty" despite every man they meet falling to pieces in awe of their beauty
* immature behavior and a conflict driven by a lack of basic communication
* spicy sex
* tropes that play out exactly as prescribed by genre
* the occasional laugh out loud insight as to how ridiculous it is to deal with men as a woman in STEM fields
All of the novellas follow this formula to the letter and are shameless self-inserts. However, the same could be said of Ian Fleming and no one is too worried, so neither am I! These shorts are cute, sexy stories that all happen in an interconnected friend group. The length means we can short-cut to the good stuff and the less stellar details don't really ruin the experience. Toss this collection of novellas in your beach bag and just enjoy them for what they are.
