My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey

Generally I really like Tessa Bailey, but this one didn't hit the mark the way I expected. The mystery was so-so, though that could have been overlooked since it was secondary to the romance plot anyway. The real issue is that solving said mystery made the book about twice as long as it needed to be. The older man who requires THERAPY (not a magical sex kitten) and the younger manic pixie dream girl having insta-love, might have flown in a novella. Here though the tropes feel a bit trite and like a lot of rapid out of character behavior has be hand-waved away to make the HEA happen. The spice was, as always from Ms. Bailey, A+ so really, a grumpy-sunshine holiday hook-up would have made for a great read. Basically, toss this one in your beach bag and enjoy it for what it is: mild plot to further a spicy HEA.
