Continuing the roundup of the many Kindle Unlimited books I read in June, here are the titles I would recommend for your summer/beach/pool TBR pile. Most of them are continuations of series in which I found the first book a solid read, so you can really get some reading binges going if you are feeling some solid summer checking out.
Love Flushed by Evie Mitchell- ✩✩✩✩✩ - This is the second book I have read by Mitchell, both dealing with the intersection of romance and disability in her All Access Series. While this reads as a classic “old flame to enemies to lovers” contemporary, the added layers of protagonists with chronic illness and complicated families make a very dynamic read. I would love to see more in this series!
Eyes on Me by Sarah Cate- ✩✩✩✩✩ - The second book in Cate’s Salacious Players Club series that centers of four people who found a kink club together. Much like Praise, this one dabbles heavily in taboo (this time it is age-gap, step-sibling, voyeurism), but manages to do it without being tawdry or trite. Definitely a solid spicy read if you wish to spend more time in the world of The Salacious Players Club.
Sweet Berries by C.M. Nascosta- ✩✩✩✩✩ - Here we head back to Cambrick Creek (of Morning Glory Milking Farm fame) for a surprisingly sweet romance featuring a mothman. This perfect blend of monster-shagging and a caring HEA was just a delightful read. Much like the other book in the series, for such an “out there” premise Nascosta makes such a cozy romance.
Faking With Benefits by Lily Gold- ✩✩✩✩✩ - Such a thin premise with so many archetypes that somehow becomes a super enjoyable read. Despite everyone being a walking trope, you do find yourself invested in the relationships. I could have lived without the “vindictive ex that makes us all see how the heroine is not like other girls” aspect, honestly the backstory provided plenty of checkered past, but other than that this is basically a chance for a nice lingerie designer to get it from an apartment full of hot guys. Good enough!
Give Me More by Sarah Cate- ✩✩✩✩✩ - Clearly I am into this series and I waited (not very patiently) for this next book to come out. With The Salacious Players Club as a fun backdrop, here we see the almost tooth-rottingly sweet tale of a couple who decide they would both like to shag the brains out of their best friend. With the much tamer “taboos” of polyamory and bisexuality being centered, Cate manages to keep it hot while moving characters through their traumas and towards a solid HEA. Now to count the days until the next book!
