My Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩
This was a great fluffy romance if, and only if, you are willing to just run with suspension of disbelief that these people manage to live adult lives in any capacity.
The plot is thin at best, the premise is pretty weak from jump and not how any real-life humans would ever act. The entire narrative is based on insta-lust, tragic pasts and immature human behavior. Character development is minimal, almost everyone acts out of character to reach a HEA and frankly, the protagonists are only halfway likable.
However, if you want a fun read, with decent spice and small town vibes...this is a pretty great book. Human disaster city-slicker meets grumpy small-town man of single syllable interactions is a classic for a reason. This book is quintessentially a formulaic made-for-TV movie in spicy book form. Honestly, not mad about it.
While this is a far from perfect read, it was eminently enjoyable and will scratch that Hallmark Movie itch.
