After how much I enjoyed Beastly & Bookish (despite a few reservations) I was excited to read the rest in the three book collection. While I did not enjoy this one as much, it was still a fun read if you want fast-burn monster romance with a vague holiday theme. Th emajor disappointment here is the constant allusion to the FMC's affinity to fire, yet nothing really comes of it. Sure she winds up being a fated mate, but that plot line uses a lot of narrative/expositional time for seemingly no reason. All that said, the spice is hot, the ending is happy and the read is quick and fun.

Of the three books in this series, this was my least favorite. I get that we are supposed to be seeing two characters grow through trauma, but it was hard to enjoy the romance aspect when the whole premise was the MMC constantly misleading the FMC. And for what? So the whole motivation for his hijinks could just disappear at the end and make all the drama not worth it? This one definitely hits the mark if you want some fun monster smut with a loose holiday theme, but for all the trying to make a narrative, I just couldn't get into this one as much as the other two in the collection.
