Look, fully one bazillion people have read and reviewed these books, and I don't have much to add, so the same review stands for all three I have read so far.

In short:
  • Feyre is painfully reckless, immature and prone to making the wrong choice in clutch moments 95% of the time.
  • The plots are somehow long, yet not much happens, but then a race of exposition and coincidences wraps everything up.
  • For all the squealing about how racy these "fairy porn" books are, they were not (comparatively) that spicy. I will apply the disclaimer that in 2015 the genre has not quite matured and all we had for comparison was the Fifty Shades series, but still...I dont get it.

Now all that said, I still read three cinder blocks worth of books in this series and have the next two on order from the library...so Maas is onto something. I don't know why I enjoyed these so much even though they hit every single one of my pet peeves, but that is okay. Much like Brie and Velveeta are both delicious cheeses, this series can stand alongside other books in the genre.
