So This is Christmas by Jenny Holiday
Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩
I have loved the other two books in this series, so I was very excited to read this next story in the world of royal Eldovia. However, this book just didn't hit the mark for me.
I really liked:
The snark was honest and served a purpose (vs the current trend that being immature is the same as banter)
The resolution prioritizes the career of the female lead (vs. the trend that all it takes for a career woman to abandon her goals is the right man)
I really enjoy just being in the world that Holiday has built with this series.
I really didn't like:
The chemistry, or lack thereof. I get the “opposites attract” and “enemies to lovers” trope, but I just didn't feel it with these two.
There was a lot of backstory, both from the respective families and in the business exchanges from Cara’s job, but none of it felt…useful?
The resolution felt too easy and contrived (this is probably related to the point above)
In short, this one fell short of my expectation for Holiday and this series. However, I feel a set up for the next pairing and I will be back to read more. Given how great Holiday’s other books have been, this is hopefully just a one off that didn't do it for me personally.

Nice review. They can't all be perfect for everyone. Now I have that song stuck in my head!
