Blindsided by Amy Dawes
Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩
Fairly standard “friends to lovers” read featuring a plus-sized protagonist and a hot football player. This was exactly as described. It was trite and predictable in all the right ways with some hotness layered on top. Characters are well developed, the plot is feasible (if tropey) and the banter is actually sweet.

One Night in Garoureve by Elle M. Drew
Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩
A fun SF/F romance with all the classic tropes of “fated mates,” “insta-love/lust” and fun supernatural elements. The point of this book is the sizzling attraction, though the plot and supernatural mythos is relatively well outlined. This is a solidly comfortable read if you like a little wolf-shifter action with your uncomplicated HEA romances.

Morning Glory Milking Farm by C.M. Nacosta
Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩
This book got all kinds of press on SmutTok/BookTok and gets referenced a lot on the Bonkers Romance Podcast, so I had to check it out. While it is exactly what’s on the tin, a romance that emerges around a job that is, not gonna sugarcoat this, jacking off minotaurs- it turns out to be a surprisingly sweet romance. The plot and world-building are fairly well developed and despite the obvious kink list and short-cut of “insta love/lust” it is a pretty solid story.

Deceived by the Gargoyles by Lillian Lark
Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩
This second book in the Monstrous Matches/Love Bathhouse series was a great follow-on to Stalked by the Kraken. Featuring a reverse harem with gargoyles and a plus-sized protagonist, this is a fun read with some angst and conflict, but a solid HEA. The world that Lark is building continues to be very cool and I look forward to more in this series. Read this one for a fun and sexy, yet comfortably predictable SF/F romance.
