This series can do no wrong. In the eight book, the political intrigue is ramped up to 11 and this book happens almost in real time over the course of a few days. Robert has built a world that stands alone as a political thriller. The barrier is down, alliances are tested and the fate of Olympus hangs in the balance. However, in between the political jockeying, a delightfully sweet romance blooms between an unlikely pair of lost players. The insta-love really works here, and finding exactly the partner you need in troubling times is way more swoony than it has any right to be. A MM romance between a steadfast semi-unwilling heir and a freshly orphaned former honeypot is somehow perfect. And spicy...like amazing spice. Grade A work here. Without giving too much away, this book really dives into the climax of Olympus' struggles and hints at a resolution. The additional set up for the next book in the series is delicious and I can't wait!
