NetGalley Review: Perfectly Wicked by Lindsay Lovise

Perfectly Wicked
Perfectly Wicked by Lindsay Lovise

My Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩

This was a such a good premise (with a twist that does add some uniqueness) but I just felt like it fell flat on follow through.

In theory it was a gently spooky story of witches, ghosts, family and romance with a shot of mystery for good measure. In actuality, it was a great start on all those story lines with each one rushing to a predictable finish. I did not feel the chemistry between the characters, and the great family trauma/secrets were merely filler between two people falling prey to insta-lust.

On the positive side, the mythos was interesting. How Lovise handles the concept of magic creates a fun world. Each part of the story from the magic cider, to the ghosts, to the family mythology was interesting and well crafted...plot wise it just didn't come together for me.
