I am pretty much committed to anything by Stephanie Archer being a guaranteed good read. This one made great use of the current hockey-romance trend, while using some other classic tropes like: "grumpy-sunshine," "childhood crushes" and just a touch of "he falls first." While some of it didn't do it for me (I never want to hear the word "songbird" ever again, the parental resolution requires acting completely OOC and there is a good part of the "will-they-won't-they" chapters that were a bit repetitive) overall it was exactly what I have come to love about Archer's book. The characters are pretty well developed, the plot does what it needs to do within the usual suspension of disbelief for a romance novel and the HEA is exactly what readers want from the genre. Archer writes some USDA Grade A spice, so if that is your jam, this one won't disappoint. I am already excited for the next in this series.
