While I have enjoyed this series so far, this one just didn't hit the mark for me. As the books progress it becomes more and more obvious that the BDSM aspects are mostly background justification for otherwise OK romance stories, but when the kink is too central, it falls flat. This was just too chaotic, the characters went past tropey to trite and it contains my least favorite trope of all (which I wont name to avoid spoilers.) The backstory is messy and complicated in ways that are not necessary- this could have been a bog standard "millionaire with a Daddy-kink rescues ingenue" without the added drama. Add in mismatched kinks, generally annoying personalities (just put some flipping fruit snacks in your pocket Daisy!) and not the level of spice you expects from a Sara Cate...this one just wasn't what I was hoping for.
