Look, like every other dark romance-reader on the planet, I am fully obsessed with this Katee Robert series (and everything she has ever written, lets be honest!).
This was a really clever application of Apollo as the god of truth and Cassandra as the (often disbelieved) oracle. Of course these two should star in a PI-style partnership caper! No one loves a "fake relationship" trope more than I and adding in a bi-plus-sized FMC was icing on the cake.
What really made me fall in love with this book, it may be my favorite in the series so far, was the historical romance throwback of a week-long house party. Complete with games, hijinks and party favors, it was the perfect backdrop for the spy-vs-spy political machinations of the 13. This book gives you all the behind the scenes trysts and tribulations of a historical romance in a thoroughly modern setting. As always, the spice is perfection.
I am counting the days until the next in this series!
