October 2021 Reading Roundup

October was another slow month for non-review reading.  I took a stab at a book from TikTok that turned out to be not great.  The Forty-Year-Old Virgin Witch by Raven Storm was advertised a a fun little reverse harem series featuring all your favorite supernatural creatures.  In actuality it read like fanfic written by a 15 year-old.  The "banter and humor" was so off putting that I couldn't even get into it as a "plot, what plot?" story, which might be just as well since very little *ahem* "not plot" (or plot somehow?) even manages to happen.  Oh well, not all recommendations can be five-star reads.

Squeaking in just under the wire for an October read was Tessa Dare's How to Catch a Wild Viscount.  A fast little novella with a happy ending for long, semi-unrequited, love.  If you know Tessa Dare, then you know just what you are going to get.  It was, as always with this author, a solid read.  (PS As of writing this, the novella is free on Kindle!)
