My NetGalley reviews have kept me in books since the start of 2020, but I did want to cycle back to a book I read at the end of 2019 that was amazing! I have not read as many contemporary romances, I tend to like historicals, but this new book (soon to be series) may have gotten me hooked on modern romance. If you like smart, hot and funny romances, The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa K Adams should be on you TBR list.
The basic premise is that a group of men have a romance book club, and use what they learn from the books to help their relationships. I won't delve too much deeper into the plot (no spoilers!), but as you can imagine, male bonding and hysterical situations ensue. The part I really like: how the characters talk about romance as a serious genre. The overt recognition that romance is feminist, informative and quality literature is fantastic. If you love romance, saved marriages and male friendship, this book is sure to be a hit.
