NetGalley Review: The Vanished by Jayne Anne Krentz

I was very excited to read an ARC of one of my favorite authors.  This one was just as good as expected!
I have been a fan of Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick/Jayne Castle’s sci-fi/fantasy work for a long time, and this first novel in her new Fogg Lake Series delivers as always.  The blend of crime solving, science fiction and fantasy world building made this a book I couldn’t put down. The combination of murder mystery, paranormal investigation and romance means the psychic energy isn't the only thing running hot!  The mystery provided just enough twists and turns to keep you hooked, but was solvable...the author doesn't rely on surprise hidden endings to keep her plots running. The characters were a bit archetypal, but they work in the world of Fogg Lake and the series opener offers plenty of time for more development and more exploration of the unique phenomenon surrounding the central town and its inhabitants.  I will be keeping an eye out for further books in this series and recommending this for our library collection.
