NetGalley Review: A Reluctant Bride by Jess Michaels

In the last part of 2019 I got set up to do reviews of upcoming books on NetGalley.  If you, like me , are an avid reader, this is a great site with which to sign up.  Making an account takes just a few minutes (and there is guidance provided each step of the way) then you are up and running to request books to read.  Using your Kindle/Kindle app, or Adobe Digital Editions, you can read and review Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) in pretty much any genre.

Once you start getting approved for books, you read and enjoy them, then provide feedback for the publisher.  A nicely written review is a pretty good price for access to books so hot off the presses the steam hasn't even cooled yet.  There is some science to the process, certain publishers are looking for certain reviewers and you may get requests denied (like a lot!), but once you get going it is pretty steady reading and a very fun way to participate in the process of getting our favorite thing (BOOKS!) to market.

Since 2019 was also the year that I got hot and heavy (pun intended) into Regency/Historical Romance, it seemed fitting that the first accepted request I had was for A Reluctant Bride by Jess Michaels.  I loved it!  I gave this book 5 stars and posted the following review:

I devoured this book in one evening, an absolute delight.  This was my first book by this author and I have already put two of her other series on request at my library.  The book drops you right into the action, and never slows down, but Michaels presents such well developed characters and settings that you feel right at home in the world of the Shelley Triplets.  Our heroine is brave in her own ways, fiercely devoted to her identical sisters and whip-smart. Our hero enjoys a classic brooding countenance, but like all good romantic leads, has a caring soul and soft spot for the leading lady.  The action starts on page one and continues to the very end, with the promise of even more to come. I look forward to the following books in this series and can’t wait to see what the daring Shelley Triplets get up to next!
